Refund policy
We have a 14-day return policy, which means you have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase. Sale items and special order items cannot be returned. Change of mind is not a valid reason to return goods for a refund. All items are inspected prior to dispatch.
OUR CHANGE OF MIND POLICY
Our aim at Formal Red is to provide you with a fuss free experience so that you can be confident in your purchase. We will gladly offer you an exchange or store credit for any change of mind. Please note that the following timeframes apply for a change of mind return:
- In-Store returns must take place within 14 days of purchase
- Online returns must be returned within 14 days of the delivery date
- Proof of Purchase is required
- Our product must be returned to us in its original condition which means it must be: with tags intact, unworn, unwashed, or dry cleaned and without alterations or additional tailoring.
If you are unable to make it into our store, then the items must be shipped back to Formal Red. You will need to cover the costs of return shipping the item(s) to Formal Red for exchange or credit. For exchange situations, please include a self-addressed pre-paid post satchel with your return item and Formal Red will then gladly arrange to send the item(s) out to you as soon as possible!
Please note Formal Red cannot be liable for return shipping carried out by the customer so please use tracked shipping to avoid any mishaps.
HOW SHOULD I POST MY RETURN?
Send your parcel carefully wrapped so as to protect the product for any damage and be sure to choose registered post for your own peace of mind! We will be in touch as soon as the parcel has been received.

To start a return, you can contact us at accounts@formalred.com.au. If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like sale items or custom products (such as special orders, made to measure or personalized items), and products that have been altered or tailored. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.
We do not accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
